LP Phromma of Wat SuanHinPhanangkhawy, Ubon Ratchathani province was born in 1897. He entered the Buddhist realm as a novice aged 12 at Wat WernChaiNaKorn, and became a close follower of at least two great monks, including Somdej Luen of Laos and LP Mun Puritato, a very famous Thai guru monk. It was recorded that LP Phromma studied sacred sciences under Somdej Luen for six years prior to his death after which he became a disciple of LP Mun Puritato with whom he traveled widely particularly in deep forests to gain knowledge.LP Phromma actually remained at a mountain called “Kwai” in Laos for almost 45 years before he decided to return to Thailand again in B.E.2533. After that he went out of the mountain and when Tudong pass to SuanHin Mountain, Ubon Ratchathani province. People who stay in this area requested LP Phromma to live and teach them about Buddhism way. At the same time, people had given the land to LP Phromma for building the temple. He took up residence at Wat Tumsuanhinkaew, Ubonrachthani province, where HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, visited him on two occasions to give homage.LP Phromma, Wat SuanHinPhanangkhawy, Ubon Ratchathani, he has been mediating in the cave for years and seldom return to temple. Amulets made by him have become increasingly more difficult to source.Before he passed away, LP Phromma had worked very hard to develop the forests surrounding the temple which he converted into a nature reserve.On August 23rd, B.E.2545, LP Phromma passed away aged 105 years old. Indeed at the time of his death he was one of the oldest living monks.
